Finally made it out to the Rickshaw last Saturday to see the Pack A.D. Great show all around. Sadly, my OM-2 jammed up after taking just one shot so, I was limited to shooting 6x7 with the Fuji. And Tri-X. And an f/3.5 maximum aperture. In a club.
So, as it turns out, you can actually push Tri-X to 12,800 and, if you do it with medium format, while you have absolutely no shadow detail, the grain (in Rodinal) is actually pretty tight.
Not as good a shots as I had been hoping to get but, not so bad either. I did minimize the agitation to 3 inversions every 10 minutes in an effort to keep things from getting too hairy. The negs look like hell, actually left them hanging for almost a week before I bothered scanning them but, the scans aren’t too terribly bad.
Opening band Pierced Arrows were absolutely spectacular and, headliners The Pack A.D. put on what might just be one of those shows one drunkenly brags about having been at years from now.
